CiDi CEO Albert S. Hu Speaks with CNBC on Break-Even Outlook
CiDi CEO Dr. Albert S. Hu recently spoke with CNBC about the company’s first earnings update after its Hong Kong listing, its commercialization strategy, and its outlook for profitability.
CiDi specializes in heavy-duty embodied AI, with three product divisions: Heavy Vehicle Autonomous Driving, Heavy-Duty Embodied AI for Industrial Equipment, and Intelligent Mobility Solutions.
In heavy vehicle autonomous driving, CiDi develops L4 mining trucks and L4 logistics trucks for demanding industrial environments, where safety, efficiency, and continuous operation are critical; the heavy-duty embodied AI division extends CiDi’s technologies to a broader range of machines and operating scenarios, from surface sites to underground operations.; Its intelligent mobility business builds on automotive-grade perception technologies to support safer and smarter transport across diverse scenarios.
Dr. Hu expressed confidence in the continued growth of CiDi’s autonomous driving business. He expects this business penetration in mining to reach 30% to 50% between 2028 and 2030, with CiDi’s vehicle deliveries expected to approach 1,000 units this year. He also asserted CiDi expects to reach break-even within the next year, supported by its asset-light strategy and its specialization in high-demand industrial markets.
International expansion is becoming another growth driver for CiDi. The company is engaging with opportunities in major mining markets, including Australia, South America, and Europe, while working with enterprise partners such as CNBM to support scaled overseas deployment.
